The Basic Goals of Welfare: in the Light of Islamic Teaching

Abstract

The word welfare is related to happiness and prosperity.Welfare has seemingly a different connotation depending on whether one understands it from a mainly economic or sociological perspective. It can be related both to the individual and to the collective and involves material as well as immaterial needs.Islam, which is a complete code of life,Indeed, all the teaching of islam depends upon two essentials standards: (a) Worship of Allah and (b) the welfare of humanity. Allah also demands that we bring justice and well-being to society. The concept of falah, or betterment or welfare, is repeated in Quran. Islam presents a wonderful system of charity in the form of Zakat and sadqa. Our Holy Prophet(Peace be upon him), through his personal conduct( Sunnat) and through his teachings, demonstrated the need for humanity. This topic also highlights the importance of welfare and its goals for society in the light of Islam
