Abstract

Public health is a fundamental aspect of human well-being that encompasses physical, mental, and social health. Islam, as a comprehensive way of life, provides profound guidance on maintaining health through spiritual, dietary, and hygienic principles. Modern medical science also emphasizes disease prevention, longevity, and overall well-being, aligning closely with Islamic teachings. This comparative study explores the principles of public health in Islam and modern medical science, highlighting their similarities and differences. Islamic perspectives on health emphasize a holistic approach, integrating spiritual, mental, and physical well-being, as reflected in Quranic verses, Hadith, and classical Islamic medical literature. Scholars like Ibn Sina and Al-Razi have contributed significantly to the understanding of health, emphasizing balance, prevention, and proper nutrition. Modern medical science, as advocated by institutions like the WHO, underscores the importance of hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being. This study examines how Islamic teachings and contemporary health science converge on essential public health principles, advocating for a balanced lifestyle, preventive care, and the promotion of overall health. The findings reveal that Islamic health principles complement modern scientific perspectives, offering a comprehensive framework for individual and societal well-being
