Abstract

The environmental crisis is one of the most pressing global challenges. With escalating climate change, biodiversity loss, deforestation, and water scarcity, modern man is compelled to seek new paradigms for global sustainability. The environmental crisis demands a paradigm shift toward sustainable solutions rooted in ethical and theological principles. Islam offers a profound, spiritually grounded perspective on environmental management and global sustainability. Muslims are not only encouraged but also obligated to engage in environmental management. The environmental crisis is considered as consequence of ignoring moral obligations towards nature. The escalating environmental degradation poses one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century, demanding urgent theological, and practical responses. This research paper explores Islamic eco-theology as a framework for addressing ecological degradation. By examining the Qur’anic principles, Prophetic traditions (Sunnah) on environmentalism, this study highlights how Islam’s holistic view of nature can offer solutions to contemporary ecological problems.  The paper analyzes key Islamic concepts demonstrating their relevance to modern sustainability efforts. It also investigates case studies of eco-initiatives inspired by Islamic teachings, including green mosques, and faith-based conservation projects in Muslim-majority regions. By bridging theological insights with practical environmental action, this study argues that Islamic ecological ethics can contribute significantly to global discourses on climate action, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable development.  The findings suggest that integrating Islamic eco-theological principles can foster a more inclusive and spiritually grounded approach to environmentalism one that aligns ecological responsibility with divine accountability. Ultimately, this study advocates for a faith-based sustainability, positioning Islamic environmental ethics as a vital pathway toward a more just and resilient planetary future.  The study examines how Islamic environmental ethics align with global sustainability goals and contribute to ecological preservation through faith-based environmental practices. By integrating Islamic eco-theology with modern environmental strategies, this article proposes a holistic approach to fostering environmental responsibility and achieving global sustainability.
