Abstract

Management of natural resources is a global issue of recent times. That`s why management and protection of natural substances is included in sustainable development goals (SDG) issued by UNO. A large number of natural resources have been created by Allah Almighty for service of humanity. But modern man is exploiting and wasting them without caring consequences. The proper management and careful usage of natural resources can play a key role in economic, biological, ecological and social development of any region. Management of natural resources is compulsory for the sustainable economic development of any country. Natural resources assist human beings and other living beings to run their life smoothly on Earth. The ecosystem of Earth depends upon the conservation of natural resources. Unfortunately, Natural resources are being wasted blindly in current times. It needs hardly to highlight significant role of natural resources for the sustainable development and survival of life on Earth. Islam provides comprehensive guidelines in every walk of life. Discourse of natural substances protection in Islamic literature indicates usefulness of natural resources for human life. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has advised to use natural resources carefully. Mismanagement and Excessive use of natural resources has been strictly condemned and prohibited in Islam. It is clear that goals of sustainable development cannot be achieved without planned management and conservation of natural resources. This research article explores protection and proper management of natural resources for achievement of sustainable development in Islamic perspective.
