Relationship between Self-Efficacy and Students’ Communication Skills at the University Level

Study aimed to investigate the correlation between self-efficacy and communication skills among university-level students. Utilizing a correlation research design, the research focused on undergraduate students at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, with a sample size of 644 selected through convenient sampling. Data were collected using adapted questionnaires, and the instruments demonstrated good reliability with values of .822 and .801. The study's findings indicated a significant moderate relationship between self-efficacy and communication skills among university students. Specifically, higher self-efficacy was associated with enhanced communication skills. The research concluded that self-efficacy significantly influences students' communication skills at the university level. Additionally, no significant gender-based differences were observed in students' perceptions of self-efficacy and communication skills. However, age-related differences were identified in self-efficacy perceptions, while no such differences were found in communication skills among university students.
