The impact of intergroup disputes on university students’ self-determination and self-confidence has yet to be examined separately in any research concentrating on conflict and its various forms. This study aimed to fill that gap by exploring how such conflicts influence these psychological constructs. The data for this descriptive study were gathered using a multistage random sampling procedure. Three hundred eighty-six students from six universities spread throughout three Punjabi areas made up the sample. AMOS 21 was used to create the structural equation model, a statistical technique that allows for the analysis of complex relationships between observed and latent variables. The study’s conclusions showed that students’ self-confidence and sense of self-determination were impacted by intergroup conflict. Findings are aligned with social identity theory, which suggests that intergroup interactions enhance personal and collective self-esteem. Findings have recommended that the interaction technique be used to foster group harmony to encourage self-determination and self-assurance. Implementing intergroup dialogue programs may serve as an effective strategy to achieve the goal.
