Digital Archiving Policy
Digital Archiving Commitment
UOL Publisher, which includes The Journal of Law, Justice and Human Rights, undertakes measures to ensure the long-term digital archiving of scholarly content, making it available for future use. UOL Publisher undertakes measures to ensure the effective digital archiving of academic content, thereby ensuring its long-term availability. Preserving journal content is critical; therefore, using the following archiving platforms:
Internet Archive
UOL Publisher deposits its published articles, along with relevant metadata, in the Internet Archive. This ensures that even in the event of website failure or discontinuation, the content remains permanently accessible to readers and researchers. This platform provides public access and long-term preservation through a secure, distributed digital repository.
PKP Preservation Network (PN)
All content is preserved via the PKP Preservation Network (PN), which uses the preservation strategy LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Safe). Decentralized long-term storage is provided through global preservation nodes, which are referred to as “long-term and reliable" PKP PN guarantees, accessible content irrespective of whether the journal ceases publication.
Accessing articles is simplified as all files are stored in widely supported formats, such as PDF. Metadata for each article is managed according to the Dublin Core standards, ensuring compatibility with retrieval systems.
The editorial team at UOL Publisher ensures that articles are deposited in repositories in a timely and accurate manner. Archived materials are verified, and regular audits are conducted to ensure the integrity and accessibility of the preserved content.
This policy concerning archiving is available on the journal’s website, informing authors, readers, and other interested parties of our preservation practices. It is updated annually to reflect new developments in digital archiving.
For questions regarding the digital policy related to archiving, please get in touch with the editorial team via email at Research.Journals@oric.uol.edu.pk.
Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) Policy
UOL Publisher assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to guarantee stable and permanent access to all published articles, augment discoverability, and enable precise citation. The collection and management of DOIs are handled through CrossRef, which also manages the hyperlinks to each article’s online location.
Upon publication, each article receives a unique DOI, which is embedded within the article metadata. Both authors and readers are encouraged to reference the DOI for accurate tracking and indexing.
UOL Publisher guarantees that all assigned DOIs will remain active. All metadata and hosting changes are made automatically to CrossRef. This practice is compliant with the rules established by the International DOI Foundation (IDF) concerning DOIs.
For any inquiries regarding DOI, the editorial office can be reached at: journals@uolpublisher.com
